Mobile apps are a great way to add even more to your coupon savings! I have outlined my favorite below, comment if you have other favorites! I have often found that many of the apps are running the same promotions at the same time, allowing you to double- or triple-up on the savings across apps.
Cartwheel
This is hands down my favorite mobile app. There are hundreds of items on the app at any time that can save you big bucks on your Target trips! Discounts range from 5 to 50% on a single item. I usually search the app as I am shopping to make sure I am not missing out on any savings. Once you have added discounts to your cartwheel, you can view your barcode. Have the cashier scan this to receive the discounts at checkout. Cartwheels can be stacked on top of manufacturer coupons and Target coupons, making for a TRIPLE STACK so that you can save the most money on a single item. Anyone who shops at Target and doesn't use this app is missing out on huge savings. I have saved over $50 on the 59 offers I have redeemed on the app. This app is great because the discount is taken off before you even pay, unlike some of the rebate apps listed below. Note: To save time at checkout, add the barcode widget to a screen on your phone. This makes it easy to access if you have Target mobile coupons to use as well.
Ibotta
This is also one of my favorite mobile apps simply because it is so easy to use and the rewards can be great! Every so often, Ibotta releases rebates on ANY item. That's free money for buying anything and simply uploading your receipt! Their rebates include purchases from the categories of groceries, health and beauty, apparel, electronics, restaurants, special occasions, pets, home improvement, babies and kids, alcohol, and mobile shopping. I cash out with PayPal, meaning I transfer my funds from Ibotta to PayPal and then ultimately from PayPal into my bank account, so it's like I never spent the money in the first place! Cash out minimum is $20.00. There are also bonuses, which can earn you more cash by purchasing a certain number of items. How to redeem a rebate:
- Select a category, store, and then choose a rebate.
- Complete the tasks at the bottom of the screen to unlock different amounts of money towards the rebate. Complete them all to unlock the maximum amount!
- Buy the item at a participating store.
- Some products are only for certain stores, so double check!
- If you are not sure if the item qualifies, you can always scan the item's barcode while you are shopping and it will tell you if it matches or not.
- Tap "Redeem" at the bottom of the screen.
- Verify your items by scanning the barcodes.
- Submit your receipt by following the onscreen directions for taking a photo of the receipt.
- Your rebate can take up to 24 hours to be verified, but it usually takes only a few minutes.
Checkout51
Very similar to Ibotta, Checkout51 releases different rebates each week. This app is great because you can use it on your mobile or desktop, and they usually have rebates on things such as milk, bread, eggs, and fruit. The rebates can be used at ANY grocery store. Cash out minimum is $20.00.
MobiSave
MobiSave is similar to Checkout51 in that they release different rebates weekly. I love it because after every redemption your money is automatically deposited into your PayPal account. No waiting to cash out! Sign up today and check out the offers!
Shopkick
This app is point based. You can accrue points by walking into a participating store, scanning items as you are shopping, or even making purchases with a linked card. Once you start racking up the points, you can cash in points for gift cards and items through the app. In about a year, I cashed out $40 in Target gift cards just by spending a few minutes on the app every time I went to Target. Receipt Hog
Different than the other apps, Receipt Hog allows you to gain points by taking pictures of your receipts from certain stores like Target, Walmart, and many different grocery stores. Earn points by how much your total purchase was, and use those points to earn cash. Over a year I earned enough points to cash out $20. I have a habit of uploading the receipts as soon as I get home and then throwing them away.
